Julie Shea MCSP, MHCPC, BSc Hons

Julie trained at Manchester University, qualifying as a physiotherapist in 1998. Since then she has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working within the NHS, corporate and private sectors, specialising in the treatment of back/neck pain, sports injuries, ergonomics and pre/post-operative rehabilitation.

In addition to her physiotherapy degree, Julie had previously gained a first class honours in Anatomy, Human Biology and Psychology at the University of Liverpool, which gave her a thorough understanding of the human body both in its design and function and an excellent grounding for physiotherapy.

Her understanding of the physical demands placed upon the athlete has been gained through having previously worked with;

  • the Physiotherapist to the British Olympic 3-day Event team (horse and rider)
  • Sports physiologists
  • Wycombe rugby club, as team physio joining them at training and club matches, with the inevitable magic sponge!

As a previous Manual Handling instructor within the NHS and ergonomics lecturer in the Corporate sector, Julie is further qualified in the provision of treatment and advice to patients who suffer with back / neck pain or RSI type problems.

Julie has affiliations and qualifications from a number of leading medical establishments:-

  • A member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP)
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • A member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP)
